The Abrupt Closing Of Velda’s Chapter 11
December 5, 2008

“ooh i’m so hot”..well, you’re HOT!”
November has finally ended. Here comes December. Basically, nothing changes for me. Except for the fact i’m going to step down soon from my position. Well, i hope that’s happening soon. Anyway, I just went for my secondary’s school band camp and we seniors were in charge of a sort of nightwalk called, The Haunted House. Basically, we set up like a spooky and haunted route in our school hall. The path starts from the entrance of the hall, then make their way up the stage, to the backstage, into the backstage toilet and exit from the backstage.
The first time i saw the route, i was also spooked by it. Imagine yourself walking backstage with no lights on and not knowing what to expect. You feeling like your balls are gonna drop anytime. I was stationed in the toilet with this my junior, who was dressed like a “pontianak” with her long hair covering her face. I was supposedly her victim and was told to hide behind the door. She was hiding in the cubicle.
So as students walked in to haunted path one by one, they were spooked out by the fake laughters and screeches of ghosts from my friend’s ringtones. Toilet doors slamming with screams. Some even cried so uncontrollably. I felt so bad. NOT! My station was the worst. Basically, we had them enter the toilet (which had no lights on) and hid under the sink. They were to read something aloud that was written on the mirror and when this was done, the reflection of the mirror would show the “pontianak” and i would scare them from below the sink. Well, some of them were not afraid by it though. One even scolded me vulgarities in hokkien. I was like WTF? This is not a hokkien ghost.
Some cried their hearts out in our station and one malay guy even recited prayers so loudly, i almost burst out into laughters while scaring them. “not that its that funny, their reaction to it was” While we were waiting for the next few band members, me and Christina (my junior) were dying of heat in the toilet and kept making small talks to make sure no one got abducted by “GHOSTS”. Haha. Anyway, that was a very experience though for me. (actually i was so scared of doing that!”
