Rant, rant, rant

September 29, 2008

I know i have complained a lot regarding this topic blah blah blah but i still have to get it off my bloody chest. Let me tell you that holding a high post can be rewarding and glorious at times, but hey, there’s a price to pay for all of it!

I have this stupid performance coming up at the Istana which is on Hari Raya. I cant f***ing believe it lar. And then, to make things worse, my mum is struggling at home to clean and decorate the house alone as my dad and my little brother are busy. That just leaves me to help her. And she damn pitiful la. Just when i thought i could help her, this stupid performance came. I told myself I’m not gonna perform for this performance cause i know there will be practices and i need to help in organising the admin stuff also.

I’m so pissed that i’m missing the first day of Hari Raya because of this performance. Shit.

Poly Forum Madness!

September 21, 2008

Poly forum ended like two days ago and now then i start to blog about it. Of course lar. It was freaking tiring. I’ve been waking up like in the late afternoon. Anyways, poly forum @ Downtown East was one of the best events that have happened in my life. Seriously. And jokhie, i bluffed you. This is the best event as compared to Fasnacht.

It was very tiring for us Muslims to fast at the same time, take part in all the activities and the performing arts rehearsal. Sometimes, tempers flared up and problem arises. But when i think all the negative stuff that has happened, i felt that it was better for it to happen as we get to understand others better that we intially did. There were loads of activities including a bowling competition. There were two sessions as the bowling centre could not accommodate all of us. Bowling was funny and great at the same time. Even though i suck at bowling, here’s the most funniest part. I scored a score of 157 which i was shocked to see la. Got two strikes and some spares and “longkangs”. Even worse is that i was the highest scorer for my session. Lol. I walked past all the 29 bowling lanes and looked at all the score monitors and the highest was 154. That was such a good laugh.

After bowling, we had performance rehearsals which was fun and tiring as we had to carry the instruments to and fro. Crap. The best about the first day is when we went to our chalet rooms. Great. The bed, the tv and the aircon. The second day was the most tiring one. We had to wake up early in the morning to go to HortPark at Hyderabad Road. Not only was it hot, the instrument carrying and the rehearsals under the hot sun was torturous man. After that, we head to Paris Ris Elias CC for a dialogue session and a feast of a dinner. It was then when us percussionists start to sit around while eating and started to bond. Haha.

Finally, the third day was performance day. Rehearsals were in the morning and afternoon. After that, we had to change to our performance attire and makeup had to be worn. The closing ceremony was the by far the best perfomance in my life. The crowd was awesome and appreciative. They were screaming like crazy and jumping around like mad people. The finale performance with the dancers and the singers lagi worse. The audience stood up and went to the side of the D’Marquee. Btw, the performance was at that the D’marquee. Some of them ran to the front of the stage to dance around but sadly, they were chased away as the area was needed for the dancers and singers to dance.

After the crazy performance, all hell broke loose. The different subtheme were celebrating by dancing around. It was madness. The performing arts were dancing on stage we percussionist decided to join them with our samba instruments. It was just crazy man.

After the finale performance, some of us went around downtown east to kill time. BUt as for me, fatigue got the best of me and I immediately KO’ed on the bed. Poly forum was the best experience for me.

Nightmare.

September 15, 2008

I just had to blog about this incident. Swear to god, this incident, by far, is the scariest shit that I’ve ever experience. EVER. Ok, its actually a freaking scary nightmare. I slept facing the right side of my bed, with my head close to the edge of the bed. All of a sudden, I felt as if someone was holding me tightly to my head, arms and legs. My whole body couldn’t move. I tried struggling free but it was no use. And my eyes were still shut tightly. At first, i thought i had muscle cramps.

So I opened my eyes. BAD CHOICE! As soon as i open my eyes, i turn my head to the right to see what was going on. Then i saw my mum on the floor looking at me with wide open eyes as if it was going to pop out. She had fangs on her.

She was the one who was restraining my head. She then tried to bite my head. In my mind, i was freaking horrified. I tried to move but i cant. I tried to say some prayers but words could not come out of my mouth. I was perspiring a bit. Finally, I shook myself awake and I was shouting out a short verse of the prayers. Everything was normal. Dark and windy. I stayed awake for close to 30 mins, didnt dare to sleep again, afraid might experience the same thing again.
