Weeeee,Wii!!

I spent my weekends at jon’s hse playing his Wii. I always thought of the Wii console as a sucky game platform with “ok” graphics but I took back all those words I said the moment i tried it. IT WAS AWESOME! Especailly the rabbit game. So intense. Had to shake the Wii remote like crazy man. And bowling too. I hit a high score of 212. HAH! Not bad a score eh? Anyways, now my arm and back hurts like crazy. But the pain is so worth it. LOL

Oh Man…!!!

Everytime i think about the music piece that the NYPSO is going to play for the competition at Vienna, which is Pecos Pueblo, I can’t help but keep telling myself that it’s hard for me to play perfectly all my parts. And by the way, i’m playing 5 instruments for that piece: Crash cymbals, congas, tom-toms, hi-hat and tambourine. I’m like F***..(have to cut down on the vulgarities). But seriously, sometimes i just have no time to switch to the other instruments in between the music.

That is not the only problem. My cymbal playing sucks. And ppl think its easy to just hold up to metal round thingys and crash them head on together. The sound that I produce with the cymbals are always wrong. Its kind of pointless for to keep on practising the cymbals when i don’t really know the proper technique for it and the correct sound it has to produce. So bloody frustrated.

Sometimes, I really wonder whether or not I make the right decision in re-joining the NYPSO………………..

Yesterday was probably the proudest day of my life as i get to see CSS march their awesome formation and being awarded with a Certificate Of Distinction. I dunno about the other seniors but I think i was freaking nervous right before CSS band started marching. And when the results were going to be announced, I was all the way at the back of the grandstand, standing behind a flight of stairs. I couldnt help it. I was really nervous. When the announcement was made, ” Canberra Secondary, Certificate Of Distinction”, I straightaway ran up the stairs, went right to Nizam and shouted, “DISTINCTION! DISTINCTION!” We started jumping and moshing and everyone else in the grandstand was like looking at us. BUT, WHO CARES??!!!! WE GOT A DISTINCTION. All this meant only one thing. If you persevere and practice, it will definitely pay off.

Movies….

April 5, 2008

I’m beat….Just came back from mel’s house. Me, yee meng, ling xuan, jonathan, rui xiang and melissa were all taking part in the movie marathon at her house. The movies we watched were Poltergay (quite funny but lil’ bit boring), Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle (hilarious and interesting) and The Illusionist (dry but has a twist in the ending).

We started watching the first movie at around 1130 (if i’m nt wrong). Poltergay had quite an interesting storyline about 5 gay ghosts who is pestering a macho guy to help them. It started off as funny and then the funny element in the movie went inconsistent. Some parts were really boring and slow moving.

The next movie was hilarious. About two best buds, Harold and Kumar, who wanted to go this fast food restaurant a.k.a White Castle, but they landed themselves in many unfortunate and funny incidents along the way. And all of these events happened in one night. Unbelievable.

The last movie was The Illusionist. By the halfway mark of this movie, I was really groggy. I was just staring at the tv screen blankly, seeing the pictures but not processing any words that they are talking about. But nearing the last part of the movie, the pace of the movie picked up and I got a bit excited to see how it was going to end.

And i just reached home and i’m freaking tired. But i don’t feel like sleeping. Weird, eh?
